Over the past year (2007/08) our steady and thriving membership have been challenging themselves with books and authors that they would probably not otherwise have selected for themselves. Lighter books included "Golightly's Holiday" by Sally Vickers and Ian Rankin's "Fleamarket Close". From the classics came "Sense and Sensibility" and quite by chance, our next choices dealt with abuse, both mental and physical - Maya Angelou's "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings", "Purple Hibiscus" by Adichie Chimamanda and "We Need To Talk About Kevin" by Lionel Schriver.

In December 2007 some members went to an entertaining Book Groups afternoon in Hereford; and for the coming year we have another interesting line up.  Thanks should be expressed to Anne-Marie of Hereford Library Services and to Maureen Baker who has been our group's liaison with the library.

Book Group

We meet on the 4th Thursday of each month

A steady and thriving membership are challenging themselves with books and authors that they would probably not otherwise have selected for themselves. We enjoy lighter books as well as delving into the classics, contemporary writing and long-lived and loved works.
