FUNDAY 30TH MAY AT ROSS BOWLING CLUB

In spite of lowering clouds we were able to take advantage of the Bowling Club's hospitality and enjoy an afternoon learning and enjoying the game, with guidance from some of their members.

We soon got the hang of the basics and whoops of joy (and surprise) were heard when good shots were made.  Our picture goes to show how much haggling there can be when judging the nearest boule to the target - apparently the French are given to physical abuse when doubts are expressed, but our members kept their cool.

The Bowling Club has three separate areas marked out for Boules, and they are much in use.If the game really takes off in this country, can we expect to see a decline in the sales of overpriced football club shirts emblazoned with the names of overpriced footballers and the arrival of berets and Breton sweaters with the optional addition of bicycles festooned with onions?
