AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

The February meeting for the Ross and District U3A was a bit different from the

usual.

The back half of  the large hall at the Larruperz Centre (where we meet) was filled

with tables overflowing with items from the interest and leisure groups - showing

all the members present just what our groups like to do.  All presentations  were

impressive, but the visual arts and crafts were exceptional.

We also had verbal reports from the individual group leaders, of what they had

been up to over the past twelve months, and what they hoped to do in the future.

Many members were enthused enough to put their names down for further group

participation, although where they find the time is another matter.

Our formal AGM thanked the retiring committee members, and new officers were

put in place. We discussed the future summer outing, and Christmas festivities.

Before our cup of tea we were entertained by the singing group, who wowed us

with a demonstration of their versatility.

One thing was evident, that we are all very diverse in our interests and leisure

pursuits - encompassing both serious and social aspects from Pub Lunches to

Walking to Creative Writing and all stops in between!

If you are interested in life-long-learning, why not find out about joining us? Our

next monthly meeting will be on March 17th at 2.30pm when we revert to the usual

meeting format with a speaker. This time about  " Unusual Place Names of the Past ".
