wpf2228aad_0f.jpg The weather looked doubtful, but well dressed-up, we decided to take our chances for the March walk, so we proceeded to Kempley for the "Daffodil Walk".  The walk took us through Betty Daw's Wood to see beautiful daffodils swaying in the breeze, as well as primroses and miniature anemones.  We must thank Pat (Chesildine) and Sheila (Boyse) for leading the walk and for getting us safely back, and much exhilarated to our cars.

The April walk was in the Linton area and, passing under the M50, we were greeted with a splendid view of the lakes with a very fast fall of water from one lake to the other.  Further along some very nice houses came into view where brass sculptures, lovely pet chickens, alpacas, and a strange twiggy garden ornament were encountered, as well as a water feature installed in a wall by Mr. Palin (Michael's grandfather) which supplied the locals with running water up to the 1960's.  There was just time to visit the church before the rain hastened us

back to our cars - how lucky we were.

It was a lovely day in May for the "Bluebell Walk" which started along the lake at Soudley, leading over the road to the woods where we were met by a blanket of bluebells, stretching as far as the eye could see and enveloping us in their perfume.  A very nice peaceful walk in the cool of the woods - well done Pam (Delahay).

Walking

We meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at 9.45am.

We enjoy walking, and don't we have some beautiful countryside to enjoy right on

our doorstep?  Members take it in turns to find and lead walks within a 10 mile

radius of Ross.  Our walks are about 3 or 4 miles each and take approximately

1.5 to 2 hours, giving us time to enjoy all that nature has to offer.  The weather

in 2008  demonstrates the value of good boots and a stick!
